Our StoryOur Story

FOREIGN AFRICA began its journey as the Africa Centre for Foreign Affairs and Security (ACeFaS), an initiative rooted in international security and diplomacy. Over time, as Africa’s development priorities shifted, we evolved into the Policy Institute for International Relations and Security (PIRRES), expanding into regional integration and development diplomacy.

But we soon recognised that research alone was not enough. Africa needed practical, people-centered solutions to ship foreign policy into economic opportunity. Thus, FOREIGN AFRICA was born, not just as a think tank, but as the trusted not-for-profit social enterprise focused on entrepreneurial diplomacy and job creation. It was designed to operate differently: to close the gap between policy and practice, a persistent challenge in the third sector.

Today, FOREIGN AFRICA is a renowned African not-for-profit social enterprise at the nexus of foreign policy, entrepreneurial diplomacy, and job creation. We bridge African entrepreneurs with diplomatic networks for greater global visibility, support youth-led startups, and influence trade and investment agreements to ensure they generate real jobs. Our vision is clear: Africa must not only participate in global economic policy but shape it to create prosperity for its people.
