Rexford Akrong is an international development practitioner and researcher with expertise in agricultural economics, sustainability, and programme implementation across West and Southern Africa. His work focuses on education and agriculture, with broader interests in youth and women’s empowerment, digitalisation, rural and urban development, migration, and natural resource management.
He has supported the design and implementation of development and poverty-alleviation programmes, including work in monitoring and evaluation for education and digital rights initiatives. He has developed monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track programme performance and assess impact, and has experience managing large-scale research projects in the education and agriculture sectors.
Rexford has worked closely with government agencies and ministries to implement development programmes, contributing to policy and programme delivery in multiple national contexts.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Cape Coast, a Master of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Nairobi, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Development Studies from the University of Cape Coast.
