James KODJIE is a development practitioner, researcher, and policy advocate with extensive experience in youth empowerment, democratic governance, education, and Pan-African engagement. With a strong background in programme coordination and stakeholder mobilisation, he has successfully led continent-wide initiatives that amplify youth voices and promote inclusive development.
Currently serving as a Programmes Officer at the All-Africa Students Union (AASU), James coordinates multi-country campaigns and policy engagements, including the Digital Inclusion Project in Southern Africa and the Africa Youth Summit under the African Union’s Africa Skills Week. He has also been instrumental in designing the African Student Governance Index and convening thought leaders and student representatives to assess governance at tertiary institutions across Africa.
James’ experience spans roles in research, strategic planning, youth mobilisation, and digital advocacy. As a Research Assistant at FaAfrica Research, he supports data-driven policy development through in-depth analysis and synthesis of socio-political issues. His contributions to international policy dialogues include co-authoring a chapter in The Bloomsbury Handbook of Student Politics and Representation in Higher Education.
He holds a BA in Integrated Development Studies and an MSc in Development Studies from the University for Development Studies (UDS) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), respectively. His work reflects a commitment to building resilient institutions, advancing educational reform, and creating platforms for youth to influence decision-making processes across Africa.
James brings to Foreign Africa a rich blend of academic rigour, grassroots experience, and a pan-African perspective essential for driving innovative and context-relevant consultancy solutions.
