Adewumi Adeola Adeoye is a policy researcher with a deep interest in international migration, U.S.–Africa relations, and global governance. His research path critically examined the impact of U.S. immigration policies under the Trump administration on Ghana and Ghanaian migrants, offering nuanced insights into how shifts in global power politics shape migration experiences and domestic policy responses in Africa. Drawing from field research and policy analysis, Adeola’s study contributed to understanding the human consequences of restrictive immigration frameworks, particularly their social, economic, and psychological effects on migrant communities. His research also highlighted the gaps in Ghana’s preparedness to support returnees and address structural push factors.
