Foreign Africa begins its working year with a focused engagement in Johannesburg, where it participates in The Education Collaborative’s inaugural Southern African Convening. The event brings together university leaders, practitioners, and partners committed to advancing research development and social impact across the region.

Foreign Africa is represented by its Head of Global Engagements, together with the organisation’s Board Chair, Professor De Brenna, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at the University of Grand-Bassam in Côte d’Ivoire, and Abla, Programmes and Partnerships Lead. This engagement forms part of Foreign Africa’s strategic effort to strengthen partnerships with higher education institutions across Africa.

The Convening provides a platform for exchanging ideas, building relationships, and exploring collaborative approaches to research, programme development, and institutional partnerships. Through this participation, Foreign Africa reinforces its commitment to building strong academic networks that support its projects, initiatives, and evidence-based contributions to development discourse.

The Johannesburg convening marks a purposeful start to the year, advancing collaboration, innovation, and long-term partnerships across Africa.
