Foreign Africa welcomes the inaugural cohort of its Remote Internship Programme (RIP), bringing together emerging young professionals from across Africa and the diaspora to contribute to policy engagement, research, enterprise development, and public narrative building.

The cohort reflects Foreign Africa’s commitment to creating opportunities for young Africans to participate meaningfully in impact work and initiatives shaping the continent’s future. Drawn from diverse academic, professional, and national backgrounds, the interns will contribute to the organisation’s growing work at regional integration, entrepreneurial diplomacy, development practice, and knowledge production.

The 2026 cohort includes participants from Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, and the United States (US), reinforcing Foreign Africa’s commitment to transnational collaboration and cross-regional learning. Through the Remote Internship Programme, interns will engage directly with the organisation’s operational and intellectual ecosystem; research support, programme coordination, communications, enterprise development initiatives, and digital policy engagement.

The programme forms part of the Foreign Africa Impact Studio (FAIS), the organisation’s operating framework for transforming ideas into practical programmes, partnerships, and development-oriented outputs. Rather than limiting participation to observation, the internship model is designed around co-creation, structured learning, and contribution to real organisational work.

Over the coming months, interns will support a range of initiatives, including the Municipal Diplomacy Project (MDP), the African Trade and Job Tracker (ATJT), the Enterprise Development Workshop Series (EDWS), and Foreign Africa’s growing digital knowledge platforms. They will also participate in mentorship sessions, collaborative research activities, policy discussions, and communications projects connected to Africa’s development and international engagement landscape.

The Remote Internship Programme aligns with Foreign Africa’s mission of “Creating Jobs through Entrepreneurial Diplomacy,” by equipping participants with practical experience, interdisciplinary exposure, and opportunities to contribute to initiatives with real policy and developmental relevance.

Foreign Africa congratulates all selected interns and looks forward to working with them throughout the programme.
